Reflection 1
While I was watching the music video "1 trillion dollars" I was thinking about how the world is based mostly on how much money an individual has. The individuals who have a mass amount of money are most likely to spend it on something worthless rather than something important. Money made in the USA could possibly be used to purchase weapons of mass destruction. Instead of using the money to purchase medicine that could help cure a common disease, it is used to design some weapons that eventually will be in the hands of terrorists.

Reflection 2
While I was listening to the two stories being told, I was thinking about how many people watch tv are not sexually active. Everyone in the world acts on their own behavior and act on their own conscience, not by what a certain television show displays. The people who do not watch tv constantly are most likely the one's to be sexually active. This is possible because they are the one's who are doing other things rather than watching tv.

Persuasive Essay Body Paragraphs
The idea of zapping inmates with a new high tech device should not be considered when one looks at the health of a person, device not being effective, and abuse of authority.
The first reason why zapping inmates should not be approved is for the health of a person. It's true that these are inmates that will be zapped but not each person is similar. Different people react to situations in altering ways. Instead of just taking a normal shock that is intended, a person could have some nerves damaged by the shock. Nerves not being the worst that could happen to an inmate but also involving heart attacks. Every time an inmate is zapped or tased continuously it is possible for that person to have a heart attack.
Another reason why zapping inmates should not be allowed is the device could not be that effective when there is a bigger riot than what the device was expected to handle. This could cost the jail more money for purchasing that product than plenty other effective items. The rubber ball guns would be the most effective device when huge riots break out. Also the rubber ball guns would not be that harmful to the inmates. Other things that could be used would be the smoke grenades to have everyone separated. Expenses would be cheaper than what one high tech zapping device is estimated to be.
The final reason why zapping inmates should be over ruled is the abuse of authority in jails is ridiculous. The high tech device can be very deadly if a person was constantly zapped in a short period of time. Also some guards would zap a person when there was no harm being done. As stated in the NPR article ther has been previous times when an inmate was assaulted by certain guards. In my opinion I would rather have a rubber ball or some other blunt object inflict pain than a device that could do more than damage the human nerves. These other objects that would be used to stop riots would also inflict pain that a person could get over in a certain time period.
Having all these other effective options that could stop riots more effective should help the decision on not zapping inmates. Once the state considers the health of a person, the effectiveness of the device, and abuse of authority the high tech zapping device could be outlawed.

3 Reasons Not to Zap Inmates
Not every person is alike some might react differently when first being zapped.
The guards could abuse inmates constantly with this device and get away with it.
Inmates that are repeatly zapped could get a heart attack or have some nerves disrupted.

Neighborhood Stories
In my neighborhood I stayed with my uncle for four years during my elementary and part of my middle school years. My uncle was a laid back person and had his own little boxing club in his back yard; there were always new people each year. The boxing club wasn’t that big but it was legit, we would enjoy ourselves every time we would compete against other boxing clubs around the area. During the first year of living with my uncle I had got into a fight with our neighbor over a girl who at the time was the only girl in our class that was worth talking to. The other girls in my class were either not that good looking or they had a low voice, so low you would think they’re whispering to you. The fight took place at school so of course we had gotten suspended. After our little dispute over that girl we ended up becoming good friends and soon would be getting into trouble together.
Getting use to the neighborhood didn’t take long for me. I was always out and about doing something outrageous with my friends or I would be home training for boxing with my uncle. As the years passed by I got to know many people that lived near me. The first party that I went to was when I was twelve and it was not that far from where I stayed. My friend Steven had told me about it a week before, so I was looking forward to that night of the party. Once the night of the party came I was ready, I had snuck out and got picked up by Steven. Around one in the morning the house was packed and I was starting to feel the beer kick in, I thought that I could handle one more drink so I started to drink again. Soon after I opened that beer my stomach started to feel different and next thing I know I’m running for the bathroom. I had barely made it to the bathroom before the beer I just drank started to come out. The next day I woke up with a massive headache and I told myself I would never drink as much again.
The neighbor down the street from me was a mean old man who was the first person to call the police on me for trespassing. I don’t really consider it trespassing because I was only on his property for a brief second. After he called the police on me I never jumped over his fence or stepped a foot on his yard even if I thought it was a short cut. The alleys in my neighborhood were quick ways to get around the block and escape routes from people that would chase us. I don’t recall all the times that the alleys helped me get out of a tough situation but I do remember when I was being chased by a group of people and actually got away without a scratch. I was a good kid but the people I knew were the only reasons why I would get chased or into a fight with other people in the alley.
Each year on Halloween night there would be a house down the street that would make their house look very haunted. They would always have some old, rotten looking skeletons hanging in their front yard while some slow creepy music would be played. I remember the first year I moved with my uncle I wanted to check it out so I went with three friends Bradley, Steven, and Eddie. Before we got to the door a man disguised as a scarecrow popped up from the floor and grabbed Bradley, he then made a high pitched scream which startled me. After that happened we all started laughing and continued on into the house, the inside of the place was nice and they had an amazing set up for a haunted house. This spooky haunted house was always the only one on my block that would have the spirit for Halloween ever year with something new and entertaining.
My neighborhood allowed me to meet new and interesting people that I got to learn some new things from. If there was anywhere I would go, it would be this neighborhood. Even though it was kind of a bad place to live I thought it was the best place to be.

E.C. Response 9/3/10
The thing I enjoyed most about the tape that was being played was how he compared himself to animals. He thought that his stuttering was like animals barking and that he could understand them. Although he didn’t talk too much people during his first years of getting use to his whole stuttering problem he was very successful. Hearing this made me feel like anyone can do anything as long as they try their best. Also while I was listening I thought of how he had feelings for the experiment animals even though he knew that they were going to be used. I think that he had feelings for the experiment animals because no one understands the struggle that some people go through. Other people don’t see this because they might not have a major problem or symptom that affects the way they live their lives. Not only was he successful in life but he had gotten use to stuttering. Showing that he could get over this proved that simple symptoms can be cured even when some say it’s incurable. This story was a good description on how life can give you hard obstacles’ that are meant for a person to complete with the necessary attitude and motivation.
